Almighty Summoner System

Chapter 149 - Why?

Ban stopped a moment upon hearing her suggestion. It seems that she was really adamant on him meeting her father. Ban had already started to suspect that she must be up to something.

"Maybe next time, I still have something to do later." Ban decided to reject her flatly.

"And besides, I did not save you and your Monster for the rewards, I just felt like it was the right thing to do at that point…" he explained the truth.

He was really not thinking about the rewards earlier, saving her was just something he did because he was afraid that her father might pursue him to the depths of hell if she did not return in one piece.

Belle was dejected upon hearing his refusal. However, her mood immediately brightened the moment Leon started speaking the second half of his speech.

"I-I understand… but I would still ask my father about it…" she said with a playful smile.

In fact, the full reason she wanted to bring him over was actually due to the fact that she wants to make him her personal bodyguard to replace Delo. She wanted to request it from her father while reporting what he had done for her earlier.

However, it seems that her plan would fail this time as Leon doesn\'t want to go with her to meet her father. Belle could only postpone it for now.

"Well, do as you please." Ban said. He then saw George and it seems that the latter noticed him as well. George hurriedly ran away to get his parked carriage.

A while later, George finally arrived with his carriage and Swift Snail. He was surprised that Belle was still there but he did not mind it as it would also mean that he would earn more.

"Where are you going, Leon? Can I come?" Belle asked upon noticing George\'s approaching carriage.

"To the Adventurers Market, I\'ll be selling the Beast parts that I have collected earlier." Ban said.

"You can come, but don\'t you need to return home to report everything that happened to your father?" He added.

"I\'ll explain everything to him later, he can wait. I just remembered that I also want to go to the Adventurers Market…" she said as she immediately ran towards George\'s carriage.

She did not even wait for Ban\'s approval as she immediately hopped inside George\'s carriage.

Ban could only shake his head seeing her action. He then followed behind her as he gave George their destination.

"Right away, Mr. Leon," George answered enthusiastically. He then ordered his Swift Snail to start moving forward right after Ban boarded the carriage.

A deafening silence has once again occurred inside the passenger cabin. Belle does not know how to start the conversation while Leon doesn\'t want to converse either.

However, the silence was once again broken by Leon, "Why did you decide to become an Adventurer?"

"With your father, there was certainly no need to risk your life for some measly Gold Coins. Your father could probably give you Gold Coins a dozen times greater than the rewards of the Quest being offered."

Belle did not think long before she gave an answer, "It\'s true that I don\'t need to become an Adventurer to gain reward. However, I didn\'t become an Adventurer for the rewards, I joined because of the adventure, or more precisely, I joined because of the experience I will be getting as an adventurer would certainly help me in the future."

"My father has a lot of enemies, Beast and people included. You can even say that at this point, my father is the most revered but is also the most hated person in the city right now. If I don\'t become strong enough to fend for myself while my father is fighting his enemies, I know that I would only distract him at that time."

"I want to gain experience as an Adventurer and use it to help and not be a burden to my father in the future…" Belle declared resolutely.

Ban nodded his head after hearing her statement. He became an Adventurer solely for one reason. To gain Coins and become stronger by using it to support his expenditures and take revenge later on.

However, revenge was no longer his main focus at this time. At least for now, he decided to set it aside first. He wants to focus on the current situation, rather than thinking of the revenge that he knew would not happen any time soon.

For now, he just wanted to focus on getting stronger, make Eva stronger and make her evolve further, and enjoy his \'peaceful\' life in the Kuys Bar.

The passenger cabin went silent again after that.

And after a few minutes, they finally arrived at the Adventurers Market.

Ban got off the carriage first and just like earlier, he also helped Belle disembark the carriage successfully.

Belle paid the carriage fee just like earlier without causing any problem for George.

George immediately turned his Swift Snail around to park it somewhere else.

"What are we waiting for?" Belle asked curiously seeing that Leon still hadn\'t moved.

"Him!" Ban answered as he nodded towards the approaching George.

Belle was confused as to why the carriage driver was coming along. She was just about to make this their memorable time together, and it looks like it would fail again.

She glared at George fiercely before she rolled her eyes towards him. George was taken aback yet again by her attitude and this time, he was very clueless about the situation.

"What mistake did I make this time?" George mumbled. Fortunately, Belle did not hear it, or else he would really receive another kick from her.

If only she knew that George just wanted to tag along without any other purpose, she would surely flare up more than usual with George ruining their \'date\' with something like that.

Ban and Belle handed their Adventurers Badge towards the Inner Guard on duty.

The Inner Guard actually recognized Belle but for the purpose of being \'equal\', he still decided to check her badge before letting her in.

"Let\'s go…" Ban said after the Inner Guard returned their Badges with trembling hands.
