Feng Yin Tian Xia

Chapter 22

Why was she so peaceful like everything had not happened to her?

“It looks like Miss Dan Hong is very willing to be a prost.i.tute!”Xiao Yin slowly took a sip of his wine. This wine was the the Drunken Flowers Wine that had been sent over that night. It was indeed very good wine and was very mellow and delicious. However, at this moment, Xiao Yin couldn’t taste even a little bit of the flavor. He felt mysteriously annoyed for some reason: “Could it be that back at the South Kingdom, you weren’t a servant but a prost.i.tute? Let bendianxia guess, how many men have used your arms as a pillow? Hua Mu? Ying Shu Xie? Ying Shu Xie’s four personal bodyguards? Or all of Hua family’s generals?” Every sentence was like a knife carving into her heart.

Hua Zhu Yu slightly froze, however didn’t get angry and just faintly smiled.

How he viewed her was not important. The only important thing was that she remembered he had once said that he never touched prost.i.tutes. Else, saying this would not be a form of protection towards herself.

“Right. Everything was just like your highness thought. Could it be that your highness is regretting letting Dan Hong come along? Regretting right now is not too late. Why don’t you let me leave right now so that I won’t dirty your highness’s eyes?” Her smile, in the dark carriage, seemed particularly bright and pure.

This type of female doesn’t look at all like a prost.i.tute. However, even if she wasn’t a prost.i.tute before, once she arrived in the North Kingdom, because of him, she had become an army prost.i.tute.

Xiao Yin’s face was cold, but his eyes flashed with a sliver of light. It seemed like he wanted to say something however in the end did not.

The atmosphere in the carriage was dark and heavy. Ever since his arrival, it had become even colder. Finally, he slowly stood up. His purple eyes were unfathomable.

“You can be a prost.i.tute or a good woman. But, from here on after, you are bendianxia‘s person. Don’t continue to wish to leave. Even if you did escape, bendianxia would still have ways to chase you back.” His words were filled with powerful deterrance, making Hua Zhu Yu could not help but feel a little discouraged to escape. In a flash, his tall figure left the carriage. Through the window, Hua Zhu Yu saw Xiao Yin jump on his large black horse and with a whip, gallop away.

Hua Zhu Yu turned and leaned against the carriage. The corners of her lips tilted up into a light smile.

To want me not to want to leave... Xiao Yin, you are the dreaming idiot, not me.

The next few days, Xiao Yin didn’t appear in her carriage again. Only Huixue continued to follow her, as though he was attempting to prevent from escaping. Truthfully, they didn’t need to watch her this closely. Her hand had not recovered and she couldn’t ride a horse. How would she escape?

They had finally arrived to the North Kingdom’s capital – Shangjing, North Kingdom’s most flourishing city.

Hua Zhu Yu brushed open the curtain and peered outside.

Half of the sky had a trace of the faint darkness while the other half was as colorful as the seven color stream. Under the sky was a huge stone from the ancient city. The huge towering towers and majestic walls seemed to stretch endlessly into the distance.

Even though it was the evening, there were many North Kingdom citizens standing by the gate, welcoming them. When Xiao Yin’s figure came into view, the people began cheering. The carriage couldn’t speed up within the ma.s.s amount of people. When she arrived at the Taizi residence, it was already nighttime.

(taizi (太子) means crown prince. So the Taizi residence was a residence specifically for the crown prince to live in)

Hua Zhu Yu and Huixue walked down from the carriage together.

In front of them was a solemn and n.o.ble mansion.

On the two sides of the door were two ferocious stone lions. The front of the residence was full of people. A servant girl that was carrying a gla.s.s lantern lit up the whole street with the light.

A woman walked over. The woman seemed to be around 50 years of age. She had a dignified appearance. The wrinkles on her forehead seemed to have been carved through years of wind and frost. When she saw Xiao Yin, the corners of her lips tilted upward into an affectionate smile.

“Mother.” Xiao Yin jumped down from the horse and respectfully greeted her.

Hua Zhu Yu could still remember that Xiao Yin’s birth mother had died long before. Then, this person whom he had called mother should be Xiao Yin’s wet nurse, Bai Ma furen. Xiao Yin had quite a lot of respect from this woman.

(TL: means wife, but it used in a slightly different manner than in English, which is why I am keeping it in pinyin form)

“Qieshen greets your highness, the crown prince.” The two females supporting Bai Ma furen respectfully bowed towards Xiao Yin.。

(TL: qieshen – how females with a concubine status refer to themselves to their husband)

Seeing as those two females at referred to themselves as qieshen, Hua Zhu Yu could tell that they must be Xiao Yin’s concubines.

Under yellow light from the lantern, one of the two females wore a red robe while her silky hair was in a braid while each strand was woven with a bright red ribbon. This was most likely North Kingdom’s hairstyle; it was very charming. The female’s sharp eyebrows and elegant eyes were extremely bright.

The other female wore a pale blue robe and seemed more delicate than the other female. The corner of her lips had a slight smile and her clear affection for Xiao Yin could be seen in her eyes.

“Ah Yin, this person is...” Bai Ma furen looked at Hua Zhu Yu, and then back at Xiao Yin.

(‘Ah’ is an affectionate term used in front of someone’s name by a person of the upper generations to one of the lower generation)
